Security Awareness Program Extra Features & Add-Ons

Extra Options for Your Security Awareness Program

Branding

It’s easy to customize any of our materials just for you.

Off-the-Shelf products are great for some organizations, but others need to keep all training materials consistent with their existing internal look-and-feel. That’s where we come in. Let us brand all of your training materials: from newsletters and posters, to courses and quizzes. That way, you’ll have a consistent theme which helps users identify anything you present related to your awareness campaign. Branding helps to drive your messages home and further commits them to users’ memories!

What goes into branding a security awareness program?

  • Think of your awareness program as an advertising campaign. Content should be delivered regularly and with a consistent look-and-feel, which emphasizes to users that the information you’re presenting to them is important and relevant to your organization’s internal culture.
  • Maybe you want to create a mascot or logo for the security department. Every time an employee sees an email blast or poster with that logo, they recognize it as part of the Security Awareness Initiative.
  • Our production team will work with you to develop a consistent, branded look-and-feel for all your training materials. Just provide us with a high-res logo, your company colors, and incident response information, and we’ll do the rest!
  • You can also add custom pages to the newsletter or delete / modify content in any of our courses, videos, and posters. This way, everything coordinates with your internal policy! Our contact information can be found at the bottom of every page on our site – get in touch with us to learn more!

Localization

Security Awareness Employee Training Programs Localized in Multliple Languages

Many of our materials are already available in 18 languages.

Translation is different than localization, and we strive, in conjunction with our global clients, to emphasize the communication of ideas rather than literal word-for-word translations. Some of our inventory is already available in up to 18 languages, and we can easily translate our modules, videos & posters to meet your needs. Translated audio is an option but keep in mind that it’s more cost-effective to use subtitles in videos and translated read-along scripts for training than recording audio translations. The costs of voice talent, studio time, editing, and resynchronization can be higher than most budgets allow.

Localization Options

For additional cost and a few extra days for production time, you can receive a localized version of the newsletter. There are two options for this:

  1. Translate text only: We provide a text-only word document with the localized translation. You can use this, in combination with the graphics zip file, to re-create the newsletter in a number of formats in-house, including designing it in a layout program, using parts of it in an HTML email or powerpoint presentation, posting some of the articles on an intranet blog, etc.
  2. Translate and relayout entire newsletter: We take the translations and place them in the laid out newsletter, modifying and tweaking the design to fit the new text. This option is a little more expensive because it takes more time.

Please keep in mind translation costs change based on the language and number of languages so therefore we need that information in order to provide quotes for the costs involved.

For additional cost and extra production time, you can receive localized versions of any elearning module. All translated modules come with the Read Along Text, Quiz and Incident Response slide translated into the requested languages. The player shell of the course, including buttons, will be localized so users will be able to navigate the courses in their native language.

Please keep in mind translation costs change based on the languages, number of languages and which languages we might already have in stock, so therefore we need that information in order to provide quotes for the costs involved.

For additional cost and a few extra days for production time, you can receive a localized version of any video. There are two options for this:

  1. Subtitles: The easiest and most budget-friendly option is to add subtitles, in any language, to the videos. Many of our videos are already available with subtitles in many different languages. If you don’t see a language specified, we can translate and subtitle the video for a small fee.
  2. Narration: We get the video translated and narrated by a native speaker, lay the new audio in, and re-export the videos. This get costly because we must charge for the translation, and the audio engineer’s, vocal artist’s and video editor’s time. We also can not guarantee that the voice will sync up exactly with the visuals since our production team can only collectively speak three languages. 😃

Please keep in mind translation costs change based on the languages, number of languages and which languages we might already have in stock, so therefore we need that information in order to provide quotes for the costs involved.

Some of our posters are already available in other languages. For those that are not currently translated, we can get them localized and re-laid out in any language you need. Please keep in mind translation costs change based on the languages, number of languages and which languages we might already have in stock, so therefore we need that information in order to provide quotes for the costs involved.

Mobile Capabilities

Most of our content can be delivered to your mobile devices. Newsletters are not practical since they are only available in PDF format, but pushing posters and videos to mobile devices is popular with many of our clients. Since they are all published for HTML5, elearning modules and games can be delivered to most devices, including iOS devices using an optimized player app.

Email Marketing

One of our favorite metaphors for running successful security awareness programs is to run your program as though it were a marketing campaign. That’s why you might find it useful to send out periodic email blasts to employees; every marketer knows that direct, consistent and repetitive communication is one of the most useful forms of marketing!

We offer 4 different HTML templates — Announcements, In the News, Security Alert, and FYI — branded with your organization’s unique look-and-feel. These templates are created specifically for use in the latest versions of the Outlook mail program. We provide you with the raw HTML files, Outlook email template OFT files, branded images used, and a how-to guide for using the templates for email marketing.

4 Templates to Utilize for Email Blasts

  • Distribute new content to employees in a consistent, recognizable manner.
  • Keep everyone updated and in-the-loop on program successes.
  • Incentivize learning and use it to announce Human Firewall All-Stars!

Security Awareness Email Template Branded for Small Medium Business ProgramsDeveloping a culture of security awareness within your company relies on making the idea relatable and realistic. One good way to do this is to share breaking cybersecurity news (data breaches, malware discoveries, app vulnerabilities) to bring topics taught in other content into modern day, real-time situations. Use the In the News template to distribute these anecdotes that could help make the difference between a Weak Link and a Human Firewall!
Security Awareness Email Template Branded for Small Medium Business ProgramsIn the world of information security, response time to threats is a key element of successful defense against criminal attacks. Often, important details need to be shared with users as quickly as possible and in a way that will grab their attention; this is where the Security Alert template comes into play. Use these emails to inform employees of necessary patches, the latest malware’s modus operandi, or an internal phishing scam making its rounds.

  • Inform employees of policy changes or updated security measures.
  • Give quick tips for being security aware (especially if related to a recent event).
  • Let users know when attacks have been successfully warded off and what steps were taken (e.g., unsuccessful spear phishing campaign caught before damage was done due to diligent user reporting).

Why Should I Use Email Marketing for My Security Awareness Program?

Awareness Launch Videos

Security Awareness Program Launch Video

Many companies choose to have us build a launch video to introduce and reinforce their awareness program. Typically less than 4 minutes long, this video positions your company, its leadership and dedication to cyber-security and awareness issues.

In terms of styling: How about super crisp videos in HD with professional music, voice over and sound effects? Or perhaps a humorous animation, even using your mascots and branding ID? Or some combination of the two? Let us help. This is what we do better than anyone.

Focus On Digests

Separate from our monthly newsletter subscription, our Focus On Digests acts as a supplement to your training modules, games, videos, artwork and newsletter. Each digest is focused on one specific subject, and contains 15-20 of our best information-filled articles from our magazine-quality newsletter. Use it as a stand-alone document or distribute each of the individual pages throughout the year. How you use and distribute it is up to you!

Microlearning Focus On Digests Help Educate Security Aware Employees

Screensavers & Digital Signage

Chrystaline Corp. Branded Screensaver

Screensavers are an effective & inexpensive way to remind your audience of the most important awareness messages.

Choose from our extensive artwork collection and let us create one for you. Include a repeating branded incident response slide in the screensaver to keep your messaging consistent. You’ll receive the final screensaver .scr file to distribute to users. The images have been formatted to fit a standard 16×9 screen; for more square screens, the screensaver will automatically letterbox the images. There is no branding information on the images themselves but rather on the repeating branded incident response slide.
