Security Cat has nine lives. YOU DON’T. Once your data or personal information has been compromised, both your cyber life and your real life can be turned upside down. Follow Security Cat’s advice and protect yourself from the many cyber threats we all face every single day.
Does your password suck? If you use only one or two, then most definitely yes. If you don’t change them often, then absolutely yes. And if you’re not using unique, hard to guess codes with multiple numbers, letters and characters… well, you already know the answer (and if you’re still not sure, check out this flowchart).
As cliché as it may sound, passwords are the first line of defense and the only thing standing between your personal information and the bad folks that would love access to said information. Passwords have been around since long before computers were household items and everyone had one in their pockets (smartphones). The fact that so many of us fail to use strong, unique passwords or phrases across all accounts is nothing short of alarming.
Don’t be a victim. Exercise your passwords regularly.
The month of September is internationally recognized as Happy Cat Month! To celebrate, we’re giving away nine free Security Cat posters in a series dubbed “The Nine Lives of Security Cat”. Each one will cover information security basics to remind us that we only have one cyber life. Be sure to catch all nine!
