Security Cat has nine lives. YOU DON’T. Once your data or personal information has been compromised, both your cyber life and your real life can be turned upside down. Follow Security Cat’s advice and protect yourself from the many cyber threats we all face every single day.
If you’ve ever dropped a mobile device you know that terrifying feeling of “is this thing going to work when I pick it up?” This is especially true when there is water involved. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have a recovery plan to fall back on.
Where disaster recovery becomes especially important is with vital technology in our work and even personal lives. Backing up data regularly is a good thing. Backing data regularly to multiple locations is a great thing. Natural disasters, as an example, are unpredictable. If all of our backups are in a singular location, they can be completely destroyed with one unfortunate disaster.
For IT professionals, do you have a plan in place should your infrastructure be knocked offline? Keep in mind that an entire business or corporation relies on accessibility. Downtime is detrimental to your company’s bottom line. It’s an old cliché, but the saying “failing to plan is planning to fail” is a perfect description for disaster recovery.
The month of September is internationally recognized as Happy Cat Month! To celebrate, we’re giving away nine free Security Cat posters in a series dubbed “The Nine Lives of Security Cat”. Each one will cover information security basics to remind us that we only have one cyber life. Be sure to catch all nine!
