Security Cat has nine lives. YOU DON’T. Once your data or personal information has been compromised, both your cyber life and your real life can be turned upside down. Follow Security Cat’s advice and protect yourself from the many cyber threats we all face every single day.
While we always preach safe browsing—like staying away from shady websites, don’t click random links from people you don’t know, and never download anything from an unverified source—it’s still possible to get infected with a virus even if you are the most paranoid internet user on the planet.
Any website, even one you trust and visit every day, can be compromised. Just like any of your friends or family can be compromised. This is why it’s so important to have antivirus and software running at all times, regardless if you own a Mac or PC.
They’re not, by any means, an excuse to go playing around the shadiest places on the internet. And there will always be weaknesses bad guys will exploit before your antivirus software has a chance to update. But they are incredibly cheap—some are even free—and they require little to no maintenance.
Simply put, there’s just no logical reason to not install antivirus software on all your computers and devices.
The month of September is internationally recognized as Happy Cat Month! To celebrate, we’re giving away nine free Security Cat posters in a series dubbed “The Nine Lives of Security Cat”. Each one will cover information security basics to remind us that we only have one cyber life. Be sure to catch all nine!
