It’s already time for another holiday in the cyber world! Today we celebrate Safer Internet Day and this year’s theme is ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet.’ Every year Safer Internet Day aims to further spread the word about safe online practices and raise awareness about emerging issues.
Already today we here at The Security Awareness Company participated in a Twitter Chat put on by Stop. Think. Connect. with some of our friends. There was tons of great information and resources exchanged between everyone who united in support of a better internet! To read through the entire chat check out #ChatSTC and #SID2017 or to read our answers visit our Twitter!
One aspect of internet safety that SID highlights is the importance of security education for children and young adults. Began teaching your kids about keeping themselves and their information secure as soon as they begin grasping technology. It should go hand-in-hand with their technology skills. And teach by example; keeping yourself up-to-date will not go unnoticed by those following your direction. We received a great piece of advice from ChatSTC today which is to also listen to children and those younger than you about security advice. They may have some of their own tricks up their sleeves!
Want to join the celebration yourself? Find out how and collect more resources at Safer Internet Day’s website.
